For my Individual Project, I chose to explore how light influences our feelings and how it can be expressed through a portrait series. Paired with Stan’s beautiful literature, the result is a well-crafted and meaningful outcome.
Exploring How Light Influences Our Emotions
With this question in mind, I created my own assignment: to craft a portrait series where light alters how each image makes you feel. By exploring the ways light impacts perception, this project dives into how lighting can shape our emotions and add depth to visual storytelling.
Short film
To close this project I wanted to make a short film in which I could test the research and finally create something.
I decided to visualize a portrait series from a poem. So I asked Stan van Dongen to write a poem for the project and shot a couple of pictures with different lighting.
Stan recorded the poem himself and I added various sound to the audio.
